Another Weekend Down

On Friday the site VP reminded everyone of the weather call-in number in case the building was going to be closed. The severe warning was from Friday evening to Sunday evening but it didn't end up being too bad. Saturday was probably the worst of it; was really pretty looking out from the twelfth floor into a eerily-illuminated, swirling white mass.

I wasn't feeling social anyway so the inclement weather was the perfect excuse to stay inside. Got the Warrior and Druid up to 65. Last night we cleared the first half of Karazhan. Got through Season One and Two of Smallville and into Season Three. Good times. Uneventful, but good.

Briefly

Funny how a few weeks of single-digit temperatures makes anything above freezing feel near tropical. I think I'm going to wear shorts tomorrow to accentuate this. Must enjoy the reprieve since it's supposed to snow'n'stay this weekend.

Tuesday I was surprised to find I'm one of two team leads for this development cycle. I appreciate the challenge and recognition but all it really amounts to is more work. Still feeling daunted since I've never coded any ASP; after some reviews it's not all that bad. Even with the pressure it's exciting to pick up new stuff. That and our software architect's enthusiasm is infectious.

Today would have been my paternal grandmother's 85th birthday. Funny how I see her influence in many of my daily routines. I suppose that's part of how we keep departed loved ones with us.

Listening to ATB's Long Way Home (Starfighter 2 Remix) and I love the refrain: I regret tomorrow more than yesterday.

Relaxed So Far

Decided on watching a movie instead of catching the Todd from Friday night. He was mostly a distraction that I appreciated but would prefer not to pursue. Well, might be fun to fuck. He had the sexy body going on just not much else. Maybe I will hit the Saloon. There's drinking to be done with tomorrow off.

Watched Because I Said So with MikeL on Friday. It was so terrible. I mean, it's the script for someone like Mandy Moore to star in; felt so bad for Diane Keaton. It did have a few moments to laugh at but I was mostly bored. Decided to torture myself with The Truth About Cats and Dogs to recover. While it was fairly simple the amazing Janeane Garofalo combined with the delicious Ben Chaplin make it work for me. I'm still in tears by the sunset scene—so need a man.

And not my usual.

Thus It Begins

I've been using LiveJournal for more than six years but my friend Mike relocated himself here, so I'm going to try being in two places at once for a while.
